Additional Inspector General of Police Mohammad Shafiqul Islam has been appointed as the new commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).

Home ministry today issued a gazette notification in this regard.

Earlier, he was the chief of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of police. On May 16 this year, Mohammad Shafiqul Islam was appointed as CID chief.
